Don't miss! Outstanding
Note: a monopole that measures 2.15 ha
Producer note: Guillaume d'Angerville, who directs this now 16 ha domaine thanks to the addition of another hectare of Bourgogne, described 2018 as having a "growing season that was not as simple as people might think when considering what is typical for hot and dry vintages. We did however have a generous fruit set so despite the intense heat we managed to obtain very good yields. I chose to begin picking on the 1st of September and the fruit was definitely on the riper side but at the same time it was spotlessly clean so there wasn't much sorting required. The vinifications though were more complicated because even though potential alcohols for all but one wine were only in the 13 to 14% range, the sugars still had trouble finishing. Ultimately, they did but we definitely monitored them closely to make sure that we didn't have any significant problems. As to the wines, despite being the product of a very warm growing season, they remain remarkably fresh with very good terroir transparency." Tasting note: A distinctly cooler nose is composed by aromas of red currant, cherry and a broad array of spice and floral wisps. There is outstanding intensity to the racy, well-detailed and strikingly stony medium weight flavors that deliver superb persistence and even more minerality on the balanced and wonderfully refreshing finale. This is also very classy juice and should age well for years.
