Tasting Notes

Domaine Leroy
Grand Cru Red 750 ml
Score: 93
Tasted: Nov 18, 2014
Drink: Now+
Tasting note: The highly expressive and solidly complex nose has now gone largely secondary though there is no sous-bois yet in evidence, indeed the aromas are quite fresh compared to most '89s today. The big, powerful and robust medium weight plus flavors still display relatively firm structure though it appears clear that this has finally reached the front end of its long-term drinkability. That said this powerful effort should hold effortlessly for another 20 years, perhaps even longer. Tasted several times in the past few years with mostly consistent results as the only nit worthy of mention is a touch of backend warmth.
